One week WWII and one week Cold War would be the most interesting for the students. The following movies will be assigned during the week off.
First week: WWII
Section 1: Hitler's Lightning War
Section 2: Japan's Pacific Campaign
Section 3: The Holocaust
Section 4: The Allied Victory
Section 5: Europe and Japan in Ruins
Homework: Watch the following movies over the vacation: Schindler’s List, Life is Beautiful, and the Night Crossing. Prepare a presentation on one of the movies. Tell the plot and how it properly depicts the events of WWII or the Cold War. Please prepare some sort of visual aid to accompany your presentation. Your presentation should last 10 minutes. Presentations will be done the last day of class.

Section 2: Communists Take Power in China
Section 3: Wars in Korea and Vietnam
